PROJECT 1 : FAMOUS ARCHITECT
We were required to conduct a case study based on a building selected of the chosen respective architect in a group of 3. The building we chose was Cardboard Cathedral, by Japanese architect, Shigeru Ban.
We had to produce an A2 presentation board consisting of the architect’s background, concept of the building and explanation about the building materials.

Project 2 : “Form, Space & Pattern: An Experiential Exploration”
In a group of 6, we had to select an exciting commercial building that can give us experience in exploring most of the building materials covered in the module. We decided to choose Sasana Kijang, a museum & art gallery as it has a unique aesthetic diamond-shaped facade with magnificent interiors.

Individual Work

Through this module, I have learnt to produce a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to physical and chemical properties. Moreover, I am also able to identify the various types of building material and the effect of the building materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a space / building. Analytic skill is also important to understand the selection of building materials.
